Would this be a good RO unit?

hey kip some of the carbon came out of my filter cart. on to the sand should i get the carbon off the sand?:notsure:

Just to clarify, that is more of a DI not a RO. I used one for a while. Unless you have really good water to start with it will cost you more than purchasing distilled or purchasing RO water.

Depending on the TDS of your tap water it may just be a lot cheaper to buy water than use that unit until you get a RO/DI unit. If you tap water has a high TDS your gonna burn through those cartridge quickly and at about $20 each it won't be cheap. Those cartridge on average only last between 25 - 50 gallons.
