Would you vote for a president that said they would fix gas prices?

Rush isn't on FOX.
I have watched the daily show, it is funny. However I don't base my political beliefs and or get my news just/mainly from comedians. That would be like taking dietary advise from only Fat Joe.

You could get your news from Keith Oberman,if you don't want humour overload. Not exactly sure of the spelling, but that guy is brilliant! He is funny, but not as funny. I like his Top 3 worst person in the WORLD!

Hey, this comment is snide and condescending. My comment in response to yours, was funny! You would see that if you watched Stewart and Colbert instead of Coulter and Limbaugh!
My comment was actually in no way condescending or snide. Studies show a trend in getting more conservative as you leave HS and college and enter the work force... Again, once you see the insane amount you are paying in taxes it gets harder to continue to vote for people who want to raise your taxes.
Last time I checked, btw, neither Coulter nor Limbaugh had a television program to watch.

Who does Fox have for humour? Besides Rush?
Why would I watch a new program for comedy?
If I want to have fun I go out with friends, watch a movie, channel surf, etc. When I watch the news it is to educate myself on the events taking place around the world and locally.

Do you watch "news" commentators?
Limbaugh, Hannity, Dobbs, the like?
I do not believe the BS about one party raising taxes, or one party lowering taxes. I pay my bills, I pay cash, I wish my country would dop the same. How can we teach our children that credit is not the best way to go when our country can just borrow. Now we have the highest debt ever. I can't believe some think that is ok, we can just print more money. Spend, spend, spend, borrow, borrow, borrow. We really need to get the Dems back in so we can have some fiscal responsibility again.

Fiscal responsibility? Like adding more Healthcare to the list our government pays for? Is that fiscal spending? Nancy Pelosi promised to stop ear marks, She has done no such thing since in office.....Oh yeah the democrats no how to spend responsbly.
The problem is you are basing your republican judgements off the current President. That guy spends money like he just got a 5000 dollar limit on his bar tab. He is not what conservatives consider fiscal.
No social programs (or limited social programs) and lower taxes is a TRUE conservative.
Let me keep my money and spend it how I see fit. I earned. Sure I use the roads so I will pay for things like that in taxes.
But paying for someone else to have healthcare when each year the get a rebate check with Unearned income credit as well that they could use to pay their premium for the whole year, I think not.

Oh, and I watch/listen, Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Randy Roads (Sp?), Bill Maher, Jerry springer, Al Franken, Dobbs, Medved, Ingram (Sp?),Bill Maher, O'Reilly, Occasionally John stewert.
I don't watch colbert as I don't find him funny.
I also watch Cspan, cnn, fox, MSnbc.
I listen to air american and npr, not to mention fox radio.
I get every viewpoint as my radio or tv is always playing something along those lines depending on what time of day it is, what day it is, and my current business schedule.

Funny, al-qaeda is saying the same thing, though for different reasons.
Probably along the lines of "we really need to get the dems back in so we can starting killing US civilians again."

Same here. I learned early on that listening to someone you agree with is not nearly as interesting as those you don't agree with. What cracks me up is the difference in commericals. Listen to NPR and Salem Radio, and take notes about the commercials and their target, it speaks volumes.

I agree. I really don't believe the GOP does that much any more to decrease taxation. However, I do believe that the dems squander tax dollars faster than a poet on pay day. Issues like national security are far more important to me than ensuring every person gets healthcare whilst airplanes strike our buildings. You see the difference is that I can go out and earn my share to provide myself with healthcare, I cannot go out and earn a share of national security, this requried American fraternity. But sadly now one party is more concerned with instituting policies to educate kids about homosexual, Tibetan illegal immigrants who just lost their house, and are having credit issues; rather than US history, the military, and the CONSTITUTION (yes I listed it, sorry Suzy, but your "Its 2008, i care about issues now" attitude is pretty silly and sitcom-esque, i.e. Hanging with Mr. Cooper).

No ----! Small world....i thought the alton reference would leave everyone bored, but thats just cool. I still own property in Calhoun County and go back occasionally. Its really a shame what has become of Alton, use to be a booming town. Remember Fast Eddie's???
I am talking about Huntington Beach. When I was a kid the area from PCH back to walnut I think it was, and like just beyond 8th street to Bolsa Chica was nothing but oil fields. There were several large area of town that were oil fields.

Got it. There are still some sporadically, but you are right, nothing like 60's and 70's.

Oberman is funny but they really should make a point of telling people his show is for entertainment value only. People actually take some of the stuff he makes up seriously

I don't watch Limbaugh, as far as I know he hasn't had a television program for 15 years or so.
I do watch Hannity and Colmes.
No idea who "Dobbs" is.
We actually agree that the Government should balance the budget. Can you name the last Congress that did that?

That's fine. I can't make you believe anything. Heck, for all I know you may think the Earth is flat. Whatever you choose to believe doesn't actually change the facts, however.
Taken from the news today:"The underlying House and Senate Democratic federal budget plans for 2009, though nonbinding, drew blasts from Republicans for allowing some or all of Bush's tax cuts to die in about three years.
The House passed its $3 trillion budget plan by a 212-207 vote. It would provide generous increases to domestic programs but bring the government's ledger back into the black, but only by letting all of Bush's tax cuts expire at the end of 2010 as scheduled..."
Even though the Bush Tax Cuts have INCREASED revenue, and even though the Reagan tax cuts increased revenue, Dems still want to raise taxes and expect revenue to increase... Great. Look out world markets, here comes the late 70's all over again.

Yeah, I was there a few years ago. Saw a couple active wells that were old back in the 60's. Amazing how long they can play some of those out. There are actually quite a few submerged pump multiple well sites around town.
On a more relavent note there is a lot of unrecovered oil in abandoned domestic fields. I saw a report about recovery technologies that said the US typically pumped out 25% of so of the reserves and moved on because the cost of recovery became more expensive. By contrast I think it was Norway that gets more than 50%. My dad ran a company in HB and by the early 70's the owner was being paid to give up leases and abandon productive wells because the land was worth more than the oil. With advances in drilling and recovery techniques a lot of those fields can be reopened. You still run into the NIMBY crap but once the field goes into production all you see is a centerblock fence around the site.

He is a host on CNN. I think he does alot of business/econ type reporting. But that guy is off the reservation a real keynesian, and protectionist. I can't tell you how many times we had class discussions in some of my macro and monetary economics classes. He ended up being the example of what not to say.
