wow did i meesss up

so i got my sump running today at 1st my pump was pumping more then ut was draining and ididnt submerge my heater all the way like an idiot.and it exploded now i need a new 1 .its for a 55 gallon tank and it will be in a 10 g sump what size heater should i go with.i hope the fish will be ok without the heater we have the heat on in the house so 1st thing in the mourning .what are some good brands

Ebo Jager is a great heater brand.

you know, i don't even heat any of my tanks,they all run 72 degrees year around,and the only time i kill fish is if i do something stupid or they get ate by a bigger fish

I dont think the brand matters, just make sure you buy a titanium heater. The metal will never break on you like glass will. Also, put a ball balve in your return line, that way you can adjust the flow of your return.
