Wow

I recently bought a red angler fish i havent found anything about it on the internet but i was told to feed it guppys so i tryed and tryed but they would die before he could get them so anyway i then tryed ghost shrimp and nothing happen either then my friend brought me a pretty big goldfish it was about the size of my angler if not alittle bit bigger i thought there was no way he would eat it well we put it in an he opened his mouth bigger then ive seen ever and ate it. It was litteraly bigger than him. The problem is i want to add a sargassum angler and a 2 in volitan lion and a 3 inch clown trigger but im worried about the clown trigger will he get eaten by the angler im going to put them in a 40 gallon for about 6 months then they go to a 125 will this be ok or will the clown trigger get eaten he is about the same size as the gold fish that got eaten.

One more thing has anyone had any exsperience with a fish called the sea goblin if i cant get the clown trigger i want to get one of these and a a small leaf fish. I think that would be a intresting set up with all those ambush predators. Thanks for any replys

Hehe, sounds like you have a real monster on your hands. I'm sure the trigger and lion WILL be lunch... I used to have a toadfish of some sort, sold to me as a freshwater lionfish. Anyways, I had the same problem with him about trying to get him to eat freshwater feeders. You shouldn't be havin any problems with him eating feeders, you can scare the feeders into their face, and usually they'll eat em. Its best to wean them onto frozen.. but honestly, I don't know if you could get any fish of this type to eat frozen foods at all. I'm sure some people have done it, but it wasn't easy for sure. The only way I think you could wean your angler is if you let him STARVE for AWHILE. Prolly like 3-4 weeks.... I dunno... good luck to ya though.. :D
