Wrasse vs. Wrasse

Hey guys, I need some help here. I just purchased a Scott's Fairy Wrasse(beautiful fish) on Monday. The LFS said that it would be fine in my tank with a Sixline Wrasse, but, that is not the case. I acclimated the new little guy and introduced him to the tank with the lights off and kept them off for 24 hours. To my horror, when I looked in the tank yesterday, I saw the the Sixline constantly darting at and nipping at the Fairy wrasse. Apparently Sixlines are more territorial than I thought they would be. The Fairy wrasse is getting beat up quickly. My other problem is that I have alot of rockwork in the tank and I am having a hard time getting the sixline out. He seems to be too smart to fall for a fish trap. Do any of you guys have any ideas how to get the sixline out without having to remove all of my rocks? I don't think the Fairy wrasse has much time left at this rate.

Thanks for any replies

Move some of that live rock, if only for a short time. If the issue is territory, then take away the sixline territory (wherever he usually hangs out) and put both fish on the same level of comfort.
If that doesn't calm things down, net the fairy and find a way to isolate him.

If you have a spare heater and an air pump, you can keep the fairy in a bucket or tub until you can deal with the issue. Give him some plant or rockwork to retreat to.
BE SURE TO COVER WHATEVER container you put the fairy in. If he is stressed, the slightest thing might spook him and cause him to jump.

Thanks for the advice. I actually managed to get the Sixline to take the bait in the trap and removed him from the tank. I really liked him, but there is no room for bullies in my tank. The LFS gave me full credit fot the sixline since because of the hassle. A well run LFS that I will continue to shop at, they understand that they made a mistake telling me that the 2 would get along just fine.
Oh, and the Scott's Fairy Wrasse is already coming out and exploring my tank. Wow, he is a beautiful fish. :happyfish

The one I got is still a little guy, about 2 1/2 in. long. I paid $60 for him, which I thought was an awesome deal so I swooped him up. The LFS also had an adult Scott's Fairy Wrasse for $100. That fish was purchased by another person in the store while I was there. They are rare around my part of the country. This was the first time I've ever seen one available in any of the store around me.

I just picked up an australian Harlquin tusk. Its not as colorful as scott fairy wrasse but he's still awesome . He's about 5 in. with bright white w/ orange stripes. I also have a nice formosa wrasse i picked up two weeks ago. i was afraid they wouldnt get along but they're doing good so far.

Could you post a pic of your wrasse? He sounds like mine-the lfs said he was a pink lined wrasse-but I don't think so-here is a picture of mine..
