what i have sounds similar. my 44g rubbermaid brute container with ro water is about 40-45 ft away from tank. what i've done is get the tunze auto top off level controller. i extended the length of the hose as well as the electrical connections so what i wound up with is the level controller pump inside the 44g container and the tiny air tubing and wires running along the wall behind my furniture. it works great, and has overflow protection built in. only drawback is that anything tunze makes tends to be pricey. let me know if you want or need pictures or anything like that.

not sure exactly how your setup is, but it would be possible on mine. the discharge from the ro unit in my case goes to a huge 44g container. all i would have to do is attach a "y or t" connector to the end of the discharge hose and could divert the flow to wherever.
i don't think i'd have the flow going directly to the sump from the ro unit (or i don't know how to do it that way). if you get a level controller it could draw from the container on demand to keep the level in the sump constant.

i have a rodi unit that is installed under my kitchen faucet,, it is complete with an auto shut off, when you drink, or use the faucet supplied with this unit it automatically filters the water which is stored in a 5 gallon containment can , when the faucet is off the waste water also stops,, SO,, i am going to tap into the rodi faucet, with a water line, go under the house (like my ice maker line) continue over to my fish tank room, and come up through the floor with the water line, connect the water line to the auto shut off float i purchased from reef, and mount the float directly in my sump on the egg crate, when the refugium evaperates, the float will allow water in to the sump, when the sump is at its full line the float will raise with the water level, AND WALA!!!!, no more hasseling the bucket every day to refill the sump<<

any ways i hope it works that way

trial and error makes me come back to this awsum hobby
