CORR- What kind of pump does your skimmer use? How loud is this? I know that is a pretty subjective question...maybe compare it to something else in noise level, lol?
It will use any pump capable of suppling 400-500 gph@24", I used a "quiet one 4000" and had to put a valve inline from the pump to cut down on flow. Pretty much the only noise you hear from this skimmer is whatever noise the pump makes, this skimmer doesn't use a traditional pump venturi it uses an air intake at the top of the tower and blasts water down through a series of bio balls in order to create bubbles. There is a little noise but it is not as noticeable as the sucking sound of a traditional venturi driven skimmer. Check out superskimmer.com for details on this skimmer.

I wouldn't consider it louder than any other pump that I had in my tank. Your entire tank is going to give off this angelic humming sound anyway. It's sort of the tank keepers mantra.

Yeah...I was looking at the those recirculating skimmers for awhile. Very nice, a little more than I want to spend though. I actually just won a Top fathom skimmer off of ----, it was only $35.00 with shipping. Not sure how well it due, but I am going to try it out and get back to everyone. Thank you for all of the recommendations and offers. I really appreciate it.

Have you heard bad things about these skimmers? I heard they are pretty reliable...this one costs a little over $200 new and I got it for $35 new. Eh...we will see how it goes. I figured it was worth a try since it was so cheap.
I will keep everyone posted.
