WTheck coulde happend?

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that my pistol shrimp is dead. Here are three reasons I think why
1)no sand shifting has gone in my aquarium he was constantly moving around sand
2)my goby hasn't come out our been watching his cave where the pistol shrimp lives
3) I got worried today and moved the rocks where he has his homes and nothing . (Goby was in there though and swam out)
What could have happend to him?
I havent put anything new in the tank for a long time
Also what does a hermit crab look likes when it molts (the part that falls off not the crab itself. Is it just the legs?

When a hermit molts, it looks like the whole body and everything. Anything that has a shell will be left behind.

Well, you could have first of all killed him by moving the rocks, but if there is no sand sifting, it could either be that -
A - its dead
B - he moved his burrow to a spot that you don't see the sand sifting
He/she could have died by the goby killing him if he was small enough ( its happened before

) or didn't get much food. Also, did you recently do a water change? I dunno,they are pretty hardy.
