Actually I just read the story. Apparently the news is making a mountain out of a molehill (not unusual). A VERY SMALL % of xboxs were having problems with them crashing during the start up. The mass majority of xbox's are working great and apparently the glitches were only in a few systems.
Also just my 2 cents.. anybody that can get ahold of one of these before Christmas that isnt getting one for a child or whatever should seriously just try to sell it. Once Christmas comes around people will easily be willing to offer $1000 for them.... I know its cruel and mean... but hey $1000 can help you recover from some of your holiday spendings... or it can help you practically receive a free one after the new year when the rush isnt so insane ;)

try again i just looked as well and bought mine. right this second its in stock.
you ahve to refesh becasue if someone puts in there the cart it will take it from stock for 10 min.
as for them not working why is that a shock??
take an average pc and sell a few 100.000 of them and let me know how many have problems. when you have somthing as advanced as a pc some will have problems. thats how how it works . par for the course if you ask me.
microsoft is also being AWESOME abuot the problem cases. they are paying to over night the xbox back to them and overnighting you one back THATS SERVICE

The only ones I seen there were the bundles... and I wouldnt want one of those anyways. I am looking to get JUST the system (not the core) and if I can sell it for a grand before Christmas.. then cool.. if not then i'll hold onto it until Oblivion comes out and then i'll finally start playing.

That is ridiculous to pay that. I guess some people have a frivolous nonsense acct set aside for such occasions.

Well like I said before.. if I get my hands on one before Christmas I will not open it. It's being sold for $1000.. either way if I sell it or not I win... if I dont then I get a xbox.. if i do then I get a xbox for free and then some :p
My sister actually said they are going for 2000 on the internet.

its all a mater of perspective really. to one person that may be a TON of cash and to the next it may be like finding change in the couch. for me i agree thats its crazy to spend 1000 or more bucks on something that will be available per microsoft itself again more then once before christmas. now if its retail price was that much you can bet you azz i would spend it.
think of it like this.
how many of those same people paying 1000 bucks for the game that we call crazy would think the same thing about us for spending the insain amounts of money that we do on what amounts to nothing more then a bunch of rocks?? its all about what makes YOU happy.

The difference is, when hobbyists buy something, we are not being priced gouged. Hiking the price of xbox up is price gouhing and illegal. But to each his own. I guess if you are desparate to have this console, then you will do it. But its silly, since it doesn't even have that many games yet and is not even backwards compatible unless you buy the full xbox AND have broadband for software downloads.
In two months, the stores will be well stocked with this gaming machine.

i agreee with everything but the price part.
there are corals and many places that have some crazy mark up .
as for games there are already 18 on the day it came out. thats a ton compared to recent history. 57 by christmas. it is the largest lanch library ever.

There is no comparasion to high prices on corals with uping the price on xbox to 1000-plus.
Also, Bill Gates planned all this well, to ensure 100% buy out of the xbox at max price. He's one smart guy, I'll give him that.

I got one on opening night. I was on the waiting list for almost a year for one. It's so awesome I love it especially on the HD TV. All brand new equipment tends to have problems that's why there's a warranty on things like this. It's not even a big deal really Microsoft replaces them for FREE! Mines done great and we'be been playing it non-stop. I can't get enough!!!

Another thing on comparing the base model and the more expensive model. The base model is $300 and the bigger $400. The base model doesn't come with the external memory drive and if you want to buy it it's $100 bucks. So why not just get the more expensive one it comes with even more stuff then that. It comes with a universal dvd remote an temp on-line subscription so you can check it out and see if you like on-line play. It's well worth it to spend the extra hundred bucks. By the time you get the drive and another controller your into the base model $150 and a game that's another $60. You be the judge.

hey glad you have your already. maybe you can awnser a question for me
i have a samsumg 61 inch DLP HD redy tv. i use a HD cable box to proccess the HD and sent it to the tv. the problem is that the box has no input other then for standard cable wire.
my question is does the 360 produce its own Hd signal? meaning can i run it directly into the component jacks on the tv or does it have to go through the box first. i assume that since it has the five cables coming from it that the signal is already processed and can be hooked up direct but i was not sure
