PROS AND CONS
PS3: $399 now right? Has blue ray. Can play all my ps2 games on it. Dosent have as many malfunctions as Xbox 360 did. 60 gig hard drive. NOt many great games yet. Can play almost all their games on my PS2
Xbox 360 elite: $449. Has hddvd. Better variety of games most are only availible on xbox. Halo. Way better online play. 120 gig hard drive. Over heats needs cooling fan.
Im leaning towards xbox but still not sure yet.
Actually the $399 isn't backwards compatible with PS2 games - they had to cut certain things out to lower the price.
I would personally go with the 360, Sony just doesn't have the game library anymore. Instead of releasing games for it, they just keep changing the hardware config.

Well then I must have the prototype that is, because mine is backwards compatable. And their library isnt full yet because they havent even been out a year with the new system. I just got the release dates for the next 6 months on all of the upcomming games. Theres over 50 of them scheduled.

If it's 40GB then it doesn't play PS2 games - it can play PS1 (why you would want to, i have no idea). The 40GB PS3 lacks the PS2 Emotion Engine and the GPU, thats why it doesn't work.
