Xenia Help! Please Look

ok, well i got rid of that algae problem i had, but now i need help on something that didn't get answered. when i got my xenia about 3 weeks ago, it was open great of 1.5 weeks. now it is closed up. i moved it. still closed. waited a period of time and now have it in a mildly flow area. it looks as if it is.... pooping. and are those white things on its base where a new head should appear?
i have read that they like nitrates. just a little tho.

Nitrites----0
Ammon.---0

i know my calcum is low, i am working on bringing that up. and i am going to test for phosphates this afternoon. here are some pictures. Please tell me how to get rid of it.

when you say things on the base, do you mean the white things or the stuff comeing out of them? in your pictures, it looks as if you have some of the white things yourself.

Too be honest, You dont/I dont do any maintenance to y Xenia at all, it self maintaining, thats why its so easy or difficult to keep. I dont do anything to it and it keep growing and growing. I dont pick or remove anything from the Xenia. If a piece shrivels and disinergrates it gets replaced in a short time by another part of the collective..

so does that mean i dont need to raise my nitrates? i guess i will tank your advice and not do anything to it. and im sure my nitrates will get a little higher when i get myself a royal gramma

yes, i do have other corals.
purple mushroom
3 orange mushrooms
kenya tree
green ric
toadstool leather
and of course the xenia
i took care of my algae problem by buying 5 turbos and a nusarius. but my xenia was before my algae problem

didn't know if you used any meds to clear up the algea. sorry that i can't really help you any further. good luck
