I wouldnt reccomend putting Xenia in with only 15 watts.. It probably isnt enough light, plus you need moderate water flow which also might be a problem with the horses... eh?

Well, I would have to know the size of you seahorse tank to know that. All it says in your sig is "Seahorse Tank" and the inhabitants. How many gallons is it? If it's less than 5 then 15 should be enough >3 W/g. I'll try to help if you tell me how many gallons the Seahorse tank is.

I have to disagree with the WPG rule- i dont think it would apply in this situation. WPG isn't really a rule as such, but a general guideline. Wattage here would not be as important as the type of lighting. I would at least make sure its PC or VHO. Xenias DO need a higher amount of light.
Also- the point was raised about current-- xenias DO require higher current, i have mine in almost the 'roughest' place in my tank- the place where 3 powerheads meet, and they are thriving. Seahorse tanks generally have less current, as seahorses like lower current. I would steer clear of xenias in the seahorse tank.
But if you are not too concerend about whether or not they make it- get some for your larger tank, and see my other post about getting the xenia to grow onto another rock, then move a single xenia stalk into your seahorse tank-- then you're not killing all of them, and you can then add the rest to your seahorse tank if they do well.

NO. xenias need more light than that. Yes, SOME xenias can be kept with NO lighting. The sea horses may kill it since they do like to grab onto things with there tail. Try to grow some in your main tank, if it does grow successfully, then you could try to put it in the sea horse tank and see how it does, just like Javajoe said. I might survive un the tank, maybe not. Just try this(javajoes) advice. Hope this helped!

My seahorse tank is 10 gallon, right now no seahorse or pipe fish in there. I have 2 harlequin shrimp( clown shrimp) 2 feather duster. And thatz it.

I recently got some xenia and they looked like they were fine at the bottom of the tank, even growing, but they began to stop pulsing. I moved them to the top and now they are pulsing and growing. I have a diy pc and no lighting equal to about 3.5watt/gal. I don't think that the xenia will be happy in your 10 gallon tank. I would grow it in your larger tank that has more lighting and bring some frags over to try it. good luck to you.

I have to agree with Javajoe and LotR_Clown. Mine started at the bottom during the intro phase, but didn't respond until they got to the top of the rocks under VHO light and heavy current. Now they are happy campers.
