xenia not opening/melting

I had a nice sized xenia colony that just recently has not been opening. It had been shriveling up once my lights went off.
It had been fine when I just had my p.c. on it. However, I now have t-5's over it. It was my understanding was that this wouldn't be too much lighting. Is this correct?
The levels are fine. Nitrates low (not 0 but close)etc.

I would go back to your pc. I have had nothing but bad experiences with T5. Put the pc back on them and see what happens.

I have t5s on my xenia and it grows like weeds. I dont think the lighting is the issue. The more flow mine get the bigger it gets.

Definitely keep the T5's. My xenia is growing like a weed under them. Try changing up the flow a little bit.

It could be that you gave them too much light too quickly. Try blocking the light some using eggcrate or a piece of frosted light panel.

Is the xynia near any other corals? I have a xynia forest but any stalks near my ricordia or frilly mushrooms is stunted and does not extend out like the rest. I don't think it is the lights. Maybe they need to adjust to the t5 but it is not too much. I have xynia that has climbed out of the tank and is with in 4 inches of MHs.

How long has this been happening? I just got some too and I was concerned at first because this was my 1st experience with them. Mine shrink and look kinda melted when lights are off. As soon as lights go on next day, they look great again. And I have t-5 also. They are probably fine...
