Xenia pulsing

Now here's something I never understood. I have this beautiful white xenia. Used to have it in a 65gal under T5s and it pulsed beautifully. Then I moved it to a 29gal, same water conditions, but under PC lights and it stopped pulsing. It's still growing and looks healthy. So does the lighting affect the pulsing or could it be something else?

Xenia can stop pulsing forever. It can stop growing for months at a time. It very well could be adjusting to the new light.

No one really knows why they stop pulsing. The sudden stop in many cases does not seem to affect their health in the home aquarium

It's been in this new tank for about 7 months now and it hasn't started pulsing. I figured it was the lighting since that's the only thing that changed. I'm even using the same salt as before. But you're right, otherwise it's perfectly healthy and growing.

If we new for certain why Xenia pulse then it would be easier to figure out why they stop.
When I had Xenia
If they stopped pulsing I knew that my Alkalinity had dropped.

Mine stopped for a while, so I moved them to a lower flow area and now they pulse again. So for me, it wasn't water conditions, it was the tank conditions so to speak...
