Xenia question

Can Green star polyps touch Xenia? I mean are they compatible? I have one close to a Xenia (close enough they're touching) and the Xenia seems to be turning white at the base. I had a Galexa sp? kill a xenia once and was wondering about these? :help:

star poylps do sting, do id move them further apart...and id try to get rid of aip...squirt it in the mouth directly with boiling water to see if you can take care of it with that without hurting the xenia

it could if you're not careful, which is why i say take a syringe and put it right in his mouth...i dont know if joe's juice will kill it or not, not sure whats in it...or you can try a peppermint shrimp, but i don't know if he'll go in the xenia for it

got a peppermint shrimp....this morning, woke up.....aptasia GONE! he must have gotten it while the xenia closed up last night....WOW
the xenia is totally open now and looks great......it looks like it had started to split (the aptasia was right in the middle of it) looks very full now!
thanks all - sorry for the semi hijack

It's not a hijack if it helps.......Yeah, I use the boiling water to kill out aiptasia also. It's funny, I had a big one in the middle of my xenia too. One thing I've found out about them is the water doesn't have to go into the mouth of the Aiptasia, I have stuck the syringe tip down into the hole and let the hot water rip. You know you've done them in because after you get them a (and this is kinda gross) long stringy clear looking stuff comes out of the hole where they are. I think it melts them or something like that.

well luckily the peppermint shrimp worked....but i dont konw now what hes gonna eat...I guess more aptasia may show up from time to time. I never see that damn shrimp though, he is such a scardy cat

I have a peppermint shrimp and he doesn't even know what Aiptasia is!!!! He just sits back and waits until it's feeding time and out he comes..ready to eat, only not what I want him to eat. Don't worry about what he will eat once the Aiptasia is gone he will survive!
