hey everyone!
this might sound strange, but here it goes. my dad and i were working on our tank bout a month ago and move some of our xenia around. i left three weeks ago for college and the parts we moved hadnt really grown that much. i got back to my home last night and the xenia is taking over! our buttons and zoas are not happy, and neither are we since it's taking over.
so my dad was wondering if there's anything we can do to kill some of it? i know we could trade it or get store credit with it, but my dad's outta town alot and i'm not home that often, which leaves my mom to take care of the tank.
we have joe's juice, dont know if that'll work.. and please, no getting hacked at me for wanting to kill it.
thanks :)

I have the same problem in my reef. What I do is go to the LFS and get some of the rubble rock from their tanks. Place it next to the xenia. In a couple of weeks, you've got some very nice frags to take for store credit. As I'm typing this, I have about 5-6 rocks ready to go. I simply fill a zip lock bag with tank water and drop the frags in for transport. Very easy...your mom could definitely take care of things there. I hate to see anything die unnecessarily.

People are constantly trimming back their xenia and either trading it in the classifed section, selling it to somebody or again in the classified section, selling to LFS or disposing it unfortunately.

My also grows so fast. Unfortunately in my area there isnt any store credit for xenia nor do people want to buy it. It is either given away as a freebee or discarded.

the problem with fraggin it for the store is while there is two fish stores in our town, the xenia would die if we took it to either one. and we dont go to those stores. our store we do go to if we are in the city is two or more hours away and they dont want xenia anymore than we want all we have.
plus i'm lucky to get my mom to check the chemicals and feed the fish so it's highly unlikely she'd even listen to me explain how to frag or try to find someone who wants it
