xmas tree rock

Anyone have an xmas tree rock? There is one at the LFS at my store, and it doesnt look like much. I see them diving sometimes and I know that if you try to touch them they close up instantly, like a feather duster. They look like a bunch of little feather dusters, is this all they are? Anyone have one?

They are a type of worm and do well if fed phyto or something like that, the biggest problem with them is that they typically host in a porites coral which is a sps, and if you do not have the correct conditions for the coral then it will die and so will the worms. If you can find one in a fire coral, I believe they are a bit hardier than porites, but still require sps coral conditions.

Wow Waterfaller, yours are huge! I got my rock about 3 weeks ago, I must admit I don't know a lot about them but I love to watch them! Here is mine. :D This was taken the day after I got it, I should take some updated photos because I think they are nicer now! :)

Yes I know, the color is MUCH better. The rock is more 'alive' now and so are the worms. Even found some new, different kind of worms!
