So this weekend I got my new(well not new but new to me) 200 gallon tank.
I had a 55 before. I looove it....lots and lots of live rock. My only problem is...what fish to add! I have a spotted hawkfish, lawnmower blenny, ocellaris clownfish, and a purple pseudochromis that I transfered over from my 55. As of now I'm not planning on getting into corals n such So any ideas? I don't really know how far I can go with the 200....so just let me know if you had a 200 or do have a 200 what you would do with it. Thanks:)

Anyway, get some tangs!

Just be sure to Quarantine and get them from a good source.
What kinds do you like? I'm partial to yellow. I don't know what it is, but I like solid colored fish.

Congratulations! You are living my dream!
When I was younger I owned a mobile home. When we bought a regular house, with a rec room...I thought, so much room, how will I ever fill it up with furniture!
In a year that house seemed so tiny! LOL I am sure that is how the 200g is going to be. Enjoy your piece of the ocean!
My only advice is to be picky about your rock, set it up just the way you want it. Make sure to create a deep overhang or cave for those corals that don't care for much light. Also make sure of water flow to the cave if you make one.
Keep us posted, pictures are always a hit around here!

Are you getting rid of your 55? If it were me, I would set the 55 up as a reef and use the 200 for FOWLR. That way you could have Angels, Tangs, Triggers, Harlequin Tusk... oh the possibilities...
Or maybe I'm just living my dream through you!
I would have so much fun with a tank that big!

I haven't decided positively if we're getting rid of the 55 yet. Most likely yes...but not positive yet. That would be a good idea though!

With a tank that size I would keep the 55 as a QT.

A school of anthias some a mated pair of pygmy angles. I would would have a lot of tiny fish that go together really well and then some big showcase fish like a school of yellow or a hippo, powder blue, etc. Good luck.

Tangs are good to have, but remember, stabillity and a mature tank is what will keep that fish healthy and away from ich attacks. IMO a fish will always have the chance of getting ich, even in the "ich free" tanks. But if i were you, id stick with the more hardy tangs. One in particular, the purple tang, has amazing resiliance to disease, in part due to its origin in the red sea. it will cost a few bucks but it's WELL worth it. another one in that category would be the desjardini sailfin tang. although not as hardy, its still an amazing fish. but id let your tank settle for atleast 6 months
