Yay! my water is more normal than i thought.

well i tested my water.. and i had beed getting abnormally high cal and dkh levels.. well i found out why.. stupid me was reading the syrenge in the salifert kits wrong. example: the color changed on the alk when the piston on the syrenge was at 0.4.. so i was looking at 0.04 on the sheet.. when i shoulda been looking at 0.40. i was making the same mistake on the calcium test too.
i feel a little better now about what my tanks doing( i was worried about what i thought the dkh and cal were)
anyway here are todays results.. not bad for a new guys tank eh?

trate-i think 0 but could be 10.. i cant tell if its clear or the fait color of the 10 on the test.(fastest)

well you see how the water is you decied.. besides the water.. still battling some hair algea,, have 3 little friggn aptasia i need to send to joes juice heaven. small ammount of bubble algea that came in on my rock but it hasent seem to spread.. my corals are all doing good and my zoo hitchkikers are spreading good.. had about 5-6 when i got the rock, i counted 16-20 of the little guys now.
glad im not the only one who wasted tests by doing them wrong

they confuse me, drop and twirl, drop and twirl, etc... i dont know to read it as soon as it STARTS changing to the next color (not sure wich one, but one turns clear then starts to change), or to continue dropping so its more of the color they describe. this is one test that should include a color chart for each level IMO, i know everyone thinks its the best one to get, but i still have trouble with them. but then again i'm a newbie and not a scientist
