ok so this is my 100gal sea clone

i was wondering if this was how its supposed to look. the part where i circled is where the water level is. isnt it supposed to go to the top of the skimmer where i drew the question marks?
this is the tank in full view (20gal.)

these are my equipment im using 30gal aqua clear power head. and Turbo-ventuir Injector System with Maxi-jet 1200 pump A.K.A Sea Clone 100
and my lights aren't that strong yet. im not sure if they are strong enough for coral they are
reef sun it says its a 50/50 6500k daylight is that strong enough for anemones and bubble coral etc..

so is that heavy duty filtering or what?

anything i need?

the skimmer looks fine.. im pretty sure the water level is right where its supposed to be. The bubbles will go into the cup and you will start getting a whole bunch of gunk in it, this is the part you take off to clean.

Congratulations on your new tank!
The skimmer is set-up fine.
The light you have is not strong enough for anemone or coral.
Before you do anything more, I would paint the back of the tank and help hide some of that equipment hanging on the back there. It will make the tank look a lot more natural.

the tank looks good, the skimmer looks to be working good also. Dont get the water level too high in that skimmer, sometimes they create alot of bubbles randomly, and that could overflow the skimmer collection cup within a few hours. The bubbles will continue to collect and grow high.
Those lights do not look strong enough for any coral, and def. not anenomies. Is it a single bulb? It looks like the stock lighting, which wont keep any coral.

arent new set ups fun

the skimmer looks set up right but it looks like like you have the air valve closed (maybe its the pic but I dont see any air bubbles). If it looks like this in the body its set up right (nevermind the arrow, that was for something else, you dont usually get the visable "clone" in the beginning, just air in the body):

with the clone you cant really adjust height anyway other than restricting air. I consider myself somewhat of the master of the clone lol since most people seem to not be able to get them to work like mine:

It will work best with the air valve open to the point where the adjustment cap is barely hanging on. Dont bother messing with adjustment. It wont work until its broken in and probably take a few good months before its really cooking (for a seaclone anyway). Adjusting it wont make it come on any faster (full air open valve is the best thing for it). Early on dont expect much more than this

wow, you got that seaclone pumping!!! I guess I'm not that good at working it because all mine did was flood the collection cup and produce TONS of microbubbles... I'm just sending it back n getting an AquaC Remora =]

Oh its definately not getting air. the airline (arrow) should run from the "venturi" attachment (under the sponge) to outside the tank. make sure its not kinked or restricted and solidly attached to the pump venturi attachment. at the end of the airline the adjustment valve (circled) should be attached to it. If that valve is closed no air can be aspirated. Skimmer works best with that valve open to the point where the top part is almost about to fall out. It will be kind of noisy and you will get micro bubbles in the tank until it breaks in (you can open it about halfway until it fully breaks in and your tank is more stable, say a few months before you leave it cranked open all the time). either way the J-tube that runs from the pump to the skimmer should be visably full of bubbles as the air/water leaves the tank into the skimmer.

ok so i took off the air thing at the tip. it started working properly

now its like this and the J-tube pipe has less water running through it. and when is the noise going to stop?

it looks good =]

the noise is not going to stop unless you put a silencer inline but you should put the top of the valve back on, just scru it in a half turn (they wont let you type scre.w here lol). that will cut down on noise some. the more open that valve is the more noise its going to make. you can place one of these air silencers inline before the valve which will quiet it down greatly but I dont know where to buy em

they come with alot of skimmers and I've seen homemade versions but I dont know if anywhere actually sells them seperately.
