There it is, just passed, we just bailed out Wall Street!
So, can either candidate really cut any taxes at all? How long will it take to pay for this? Why did they tie tax cuts into a huge spending bill?
Thought/ Ideas?

So they pass this bill, and the idiots still fill it with $110 billion in pork-barrel and earmark legislation. The best one is assigning $2 million over the next 10 years to an excise tax exemption for a very specific wooden target arrow used by child archers (I kid you not, it's not a joke).

I guess that's why it's $810 billion now, instead of the original $700 billion. Gotta love those politicians...

Like I posted in "The Price of Pork". They cannot do anything without adding in the bacon.
Again both candidates missed out calling for removal of the pork before voting on it.
Then again it's only (our) money.

Whatever, if obama gets elected, the sun will come out, birds will start singing. And all this manufactured crisis, and the last 8 years of "horrible bush economics" will suddenly disapear. At least that is what we'll be told.

Probably not a good place to go, comments like that. . With the irrational hate shown towards Bush by the left wing from day one do you think if it was that easy someone wouldn't have acted by now?

probably... if great depression 2 happens, it's not unlikely... Hell there's already lots of foreclosure related suicides on the news, not long before that suicide turns to homocide. People eventually start pointing weapons at each other when they can't get their feelings out in rational ways.

You get out of Omaha and head West to the rural areas (where I'm actually from) and people all talk about this happening if Obama gets elected. I think it is horrible to even be talking about it, but thats what you get in BFE.
To add to the list of pork, did you guys catch on to the rum makers? Wow! The only thing I could actually think was, they know its going down so they want us to be able to get drunk cheap.

Lets be real people, loans are a huge part of this economy. If the bill wasnt passed, banks couldnt give out loans. No more buying new cars, no more buying homes, no student loans. All this money will have to taken from foreign countries like China, Brazil, or Mexico and will boost up the foreign debt. But i think having more foreign debt is a lot better than having people lose jobs, students not go to college, and have people living in motels or on the street.
Did the politicians say anything or pass any bills so the banks cant do this to us again? Perhaps put back the laws FDR placed down that Reagan got rid of in his presidency?

actually it is, for a depression such as we experienced during the late 20's through the 30's would require a world economic crash, huge amounts of deflation and no available funds for credit lenders....this bill "solved" one of those three.....I don't see the other two occurring ever.
Next person that mentions great depression like scenario needs to be shot or forced to read some history.

Thailand!!! Open a bar or dive shop and you're set!
I'd say Bali, "surf city", but too many militants there. They bombed one of the bars.

agreed, this is a recession, not a depression. during the Great Depression economies all around the world were failing, and the stock market crashed in just a few days. today, all other economies are generally getting better, and wall street has been going whack for weeks.
