yellow anthias feeding trouble (female)

i just bought an anthias yestesterday and i went to go feed him this mourning and he didnt even come close to the top of the watter to get food. i was woundering what can i try to get him to eat. im feeding him frozen brine. the same thing he was eating at the LFS. should i try other foods? what do you feed yours?

I would soke the brine in garlic. There is a garlic liquid u can buy onlline or lfs or just crush up some garlic and soke the brine I would also try mysis shimp. Hope he eats the garlic is suppost to make them more hungry and eager to eat.

Hi, don't worry just yet it took my anthias a few days to start eating. I did what JJ said and used Garlic extreme. I soaked mysis in it for a few hours and they went nuts for it, even put some garlic into the tank. Then I soaked my flake in it and they started to eat that as well. Try frozen cyclopeze too, it is fish CRACK! All my fish goe nuts over it. HTH.

how long should i let this go on for before i worry? i just ordered some garlic soak. is it ok to wait or should i go home and by some. or just smash up some garlic and soak my frozen shrimp cubes

if so how should i go about doin this. smash it up and put it in watter with my frozen shrimp cube. and then put the watter and all in the tank? and this wont hurt my 2 butter fly and my goby. should i put more food in since then gana go crazy?

Don't add actual garlic to your system...that is not a good idea. Wait for the garlic extreme you ordered to show up. A fish can go days wihtout eating.
The fish is probably just getting used to the tank...sometimes it takes a few days. The garlic will help. You may have to slightly overfeed for a few days so that there si not too much competition for the food, and thus the fish gets some food. UNless there is a horrible amount of comptetition in your tank,. I would bet the fish will eat in a day or so...once it gets hungry enough, it will eat.

I have a pink square box and it took him about 3 to 4 days before he would come out when i got him. Dont worry the ish will eat what goes behind the rocks. Try mystic shrimp and brine shrimp. this is a touch and go type of fish.

your talking about the anthias no....chipmunk or my long nose butterfly
