Here are some pics of our yellow belly. Also I posted a pic of a regular tang. Notice the difference in the black lines on the two! His belly is starting to develop the yellow more, however it is not as easy to see in the pics.

These fish are from Africa and they are supposed to be hardier than the normal Regal Tang. Thats why we got him. They are very rare and less susceptible to getting ick, as we are told by our LFS! Have anyone else had one and what has been you're experience?

They are NO less susceptible to ich-they are the same as regular blue tangs...except for the yellow belly! I know people who have kept them, and they have gotten ich quite easily. Hope you quarantined!!! I think that was just your LFS's attempt to get you to buy something expensive.

Nice pics.....I don't know where mine came from...but its been healthy and ick free for close to three years now. I've heard before that there are slight color variations depending on location but I've never heard that specimans from Africa or any place else may have better resistance to parasites.

As far as I know mine is just a normal everyday typical regal tang.......as far as I've know mine is from New Mexico.......and it doesn;t appear to have a yellow belly.....

As stated above for around three years now.... and never a serious issue with ick.....and I don't believe its a common trait to develop a "yellow belly".....not even if kept in a brother-in-laws fantastic 300 gal reef with the ultimate (and mystic) long tentacle plate!

It isnt "common". I was just wondering. And what does mystic mean? I have been trying to get him to get internet so he can join these boards and post pics of his tanks but with those tanks-he has no money...lol.
