Yellow Gorgonian Question!

How are these guys placed in the tank? Are they rooted in a sand bed? Or can they be placed on their sides?
The same with feather dusters. Is the closed end rooted in the sand, or are simply placed on the sand?

As far as the dusters go I bought the 3 pack and just buried the closed end as deep as I could in the sand. One came out but I just stuck it back. If you have some small pieces of rock put one or two under the sand next to the worm it will eventually attach itself to it adding more stability.
