as long as they are getting good flow it should be ok. I might even raise them up off the bottom a little higher but flow is most important thing right now.

Make sure those frags have good flow. In my experience, Sarcophyton elegans does not frag as well as other leathers and is prone to complications.
I couldnt agree more.
they are also prone to "bruising" and surface burn from hands on contact handeling them by the rock not the coral is important.

If this is the trunk circled in red I would cut it off and place it upon a new rock. It going to keep deteriating. Just my thoughts.
I found with purple up my calcium went WAY too high and my yellow toad stool looked like yours and started to get the crusty parts. after a couple of water changes it looked great. just watch how high the calcium goes.
