Just bought a rock full of yellow polyps. Does it need any special lighting or feeding? I also have mushrooms in the tank and most seem to be doing well except one is losing it's color??? What's up! Thanks.

Yellow polyps like a lot of light and a medium current. Thats about it.. They are not picky about anything else. They are cool but, can take over a tank! Had that problem until I found this wonderful stuff called Epoxy! There all gone now!

I only habve 80 watts on a 125g. This is enough for my mushrooms and I was told , apparently incorrectly, that yellow polyps need as much light as mushrooms. I will keep the YP's close to the top of my l/r's to ensure it gets enough light. Should this be ok? I have 2-20 watt 50/50, and 1-40 watt blue acenic.

Well personally i think that the yellow polyps will do fine in your tank....these species are acually just a type of anemone....they will eat brine shrimp....and in your situation....with fairly low lighting i think they will be okay if your mushrooms are doing okay.....they just will not grow very fast....with can be a good thing...good luck.....and btw...you say your shroom is loosing its color how long has it been in the tank and what do you mean loosing color if its just turning brown or light brown it is just due to the light not being bright enough....hope this helps!
