Yellow tang beat up by green chomis

In the past week i added a yellow tang, roughly 4 inches long from head to tail into my 125 gal tank. Everything was great, he was eating any flake and mysid i put in. Also eating all the brown dried algea i was putting in specificaly for him. Active swimming, looking healthy for 6 of the past 7 days, then today i noticed his bottom fin and one of his side fins looked like they had been nipped at, the tang was very lathargic, just hung out in the corner, not his normal behavior. I wasnt sure who the culprit was so i watched for hours, and finaly my barley 1 inch green chromis comes out of no where and starts attacking the yellow tang.
I was shocked, for a fish that seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order in my tank, i never would of believed it was the chromis. The chromis is out now and into another tank, but i am having a very hard time understanding how a peacful fish has so much hate against such a large fish. I expected my flame angel maybe but was wrong.
Not really looking for help just thought id share this experience with you all.

I have an agressive green chromis also, although he is a big chicken and only picks on fish smaller than him. I've been trying to catch him for days.

its really weird cause this is the fish that EVERY other fish in the tank pick on, 2 clowns, a flame angel, bicolor blenny, even my firefish push the chromis around. None of them bother the yellow tang at all, infact except for the clowns they all pretty much avoid the gigantic in comparison yellow tang.

I do think the vast majority of green chromis are docile though.
