YELLOW TANG HELP!

Okay, we have a yellow tang, one onyx clown and a black and white clown, and one six line wrasse in our tank (along with corals). Tonight our yellow tang got this red line from the base of his/her tail going up along his sides (closest to his top fin) to his eye, in an arch like line... so from base of the tail to his eye. Its on both sides, the exact same spot. Its really weird. It almost looks like... hmm, have you ever gotten a MINOR scratch from a cat, where it is kinda bleeding, but not really at the same time?!
He isn't acting weird or different at all. He is eatting normal and everything. Could he be hitting maturity because we got him real small, like he was only the size of maybe a half dollar and in a couple months has doubled in size. I will post pictures tomorrow, but its really weird...

Sounds like it may be HLLE (Head and Lateral Line Erosion), hard to say without a picture. Google some images of HLLE on Yellow tangs to confirm, but that is my guess based on where the placement of the red line is through your description.
What do you feed?
What size tank?
What are your water parameters?

Sorry the pictures are really bad, our tang is super camera shy!! These pictures don't show the red or true line of it. I hope you get the idea. He is still super small, I would say...the third picture size is about the size he is in real life. The other three are close ups. My water parimeters, I have NOOO idea. I need to go get more tests as I have run out. (don't know when I can test, I have no car...). Our tank is a 34(?) gallon red sea max. It has been up and running for three years. What we feed... we do a mixture of Formula one, formula two, mysis, brine, bloodworms and veggie diet. We mix all those together and then feed.

Sorry the pictures are HORRIBLE, our tang is camera shy. The pictures don't show the real red color, or the full length of it. The third picture is about the size he/she is in real life. The other three are close ups. He also has his top dorsal fin up SUPER high. I've seen him put it up and down before, but it looks almost like it grew LONGER!! I have not been able to get a full picture of how tall he gets it though. Lets see, I believe that the tank is a 34(?) gallon red sea max. It has been set up (off and on) for about three or four years at the LEAST! (we have had it for almost three years, and it was way established when we got it, we have moved twice with it). I don't know the parimeters because I have no way to test it at the moment. =( I think something might be wrong with the water because we added a little more water (maybe a gallon at MOST) about a week ago and our duncan coral has been, hm, I don't know how to discribe it... deflated?!? But it isn't dead, I know that or a fact. We feed a mixture of food. We mix formula one, formula two, mysis, brine, bloodworms, and veggie diet all together and then feed the mixture.
