Yellow Tang Question

For the past day my tang has been in the corner of my tank wiggling against the glass like crazy. I dunno if hes stressed out or what. Ive never had problems up until now. Looks like hes digging a trench in the sand. Can someone tell me what hes doing? He doesnt show any signs of disease. No white or black spots. Nothing. Im gonna try and feed him some seaweed to see if he comes out. Just feed him and he ate but keeps going back and forth from the seaweed clip to the corner.

What else do you have in the tank. Maybe was subject to some sort of aggression and is a bit on the unnerved side.

Regular voltage meter. Are you sure he has not discovered his reflection in the glass and showing aggression to same? Try placing a blue or black covering over the side of the glass and see if he stops. Just another possibility.

Ill give that a try. I also unplugged my protein skimmer and the extra powerhead i have in there just to see if maybe one of those are giving off some kinda stray voltage.

I would just cut power to everything in the tank and observe his behavior for an hour. If he goes back to normal and then starts acting strange when power is restored you have found your problem. Then its just a process of figuring out what appliance is leaking voltage.

Well it appears he calmed down a little. Hes not going crazy in the corner anymore. I cut power on 2 powerheads and put a black piece of paper on the corner of the tank. Im still going to test for stray voltage and get a grounding probe.

this is the correct information, grounding probes arent really helpful if you break down the meaning of what they do..
