My yellow tang is turning red. He was iching, so I treated entire tank for ich. Now I think that it is internal, but how do you tell? I bought some stuff for internal parasites and treated the tank. And my three spotted damsel's head is turning brown. None of my fish are eating. Please help :help:

You treated the whole tank? Do you have a QT? Did the other fish appear to have ick? How long has the tank been up and running?
Got any pics?

My tank has been up for 9 months now, but I don't think my fish ever had ick. They didn't have any white spots they just started changing color and quit eating.

Do you have a QT tank? IMO, you shouldve pulled the tang out and put im in the QT to treat him for ick.
Water params? Are those the only fish you have in the tank?

I have two clown fish, flame angel, velvet damsel, three spotted damel, and yellow tang in that tank. I took out my inverts and my bicolored angel. I kind of looks like they are loosing thier scales on thier heads. I thought it would be best to treat the whole tank. I also took out my live rock and coral.

I assume after haveing the tank for 9 months you know how to do ALL the tests and stuff. Were the damsels picking on the tang? U defenetly should never treat your entire tankl. Especialy if the other fish don't have anything, What they have now sounds like internal parasites. Take all your fish out into QT and treat them with Saltwater Maracyn two. u may wanna try a freshwater dip too. But make a water change and let is cycle again and only put healthy fish in it. Your whole tank could get infectet and u dont want that.

Post you water parameters. The redness can be a sign of a bacterial infection. Low pH can also bring this on. Skip the dips. Antibiotics sound in order but many of these can disrupt your biological filtration as well. A quarantine tank should not be optional in this hobby. If you choose to treat the display tank, you can given that the inverts have been removed. Is there LR or LS in the tank?
