Im Learning The Ropes With The Clown Trigger And My Lion
But I Just Went Home And Put In My New Black Hawian Trig
Which Is A Cool As Hell Looking Fish.
And My Yellow Tang Right Out Of The Gate Has Been Chasing It Around The Whole Tank Doing {EDIT LANGUAGE} Is This A Thing I Should Worry About?
The Yellow Tang Is Kinda Buddies With My Clown Trig
But He Is Acting Shy And Laying Kinda On His Side In His Hiding Spot
And The Tang Is Going Ape On My New Fish.
My Girlfriend Who Loves This Tang And Has Named It Henry
Will Lose It If That Fish Dies When The Trig Gets Used To The Tank
And Turns The Tables So To Speak.
What Is This Act?
And Will It Stop?

I too have a yellow tang. He does show some aggression, to new comers. But usually subsides after about 3-4 days. I think that's it a dominate thing.
If you have some rock scape, move them around a little and fill in any burrows. That will keep them busy establishing themselves, while the new fish gets accustomed to the tank.
Henry will be fine, and my wife named ours Pecker :scared: -Go figure

I have a yellow tang and he always attacks any new fish I put in the tank. He has a really sharp bone at the base of his tail, hence the surgeonfish name, which can cut your new fish, so watch him very carefully - try to separate the two - I have also found that turning off the lights helps if it doesn't stop. It usually will calm down after a day or so. If your new fish does get cut by him, make sure you quarantine your new fish in your qt, which hopefully is already cycled from when you quarantined him before introducing him into your new tank.

I also have a large Yellow tang who sometimes needs to show who's the boss. About a month ago I "rescued" a powder brown tang from a friends tank that was crashing and when I added him to my tank my Yellow harrased him for about a week then he stopped. Everything is ok now.

I agree with rearranging the rocks. This is a common method when introducing territorial fish or if territorial fish are already present. Whatch those triggers with your lion.
