Penicillin is a Genral anti-bacterial and anti-fungal tablets wich cure and prevent cloudy or protruding eyes, cottony growths fin and tail rot mouthand eye sores as well as many general infections. for fresh sant and pond use.
Hope this helps. And do not wait till the last minute to treat.

It would be a good idea to try and determine what is causing the clouded eye before you treat it. Fungal infections are very rare in saltwater fish and it usually appears as a white mucous on the skin or fin rot. A parasite is most likey the cause. In any case a fresh water dip is a very effective cure as long as it is done properly. If it is indeed a parasite causing the clouded eye, once placed in fresh water you can actually watch them burrow out of the eye. If it will eat, the tetra anti parasitic food wont hurt either. well like most said this is a bacterial problem.it is usally the remnants of a ick treatment.if not this it could be a number of things stressed tank conditions dirty substrate,in need of more frequent water changes ,anyway i use melafix to cure this problem some don't like to use it i do.it is reef safe disconue pro skimming remove your carbon during use and continue treament for 7 days and u should be ok.
