Yellow tang with red spots that disappear?

Last night my neighbor's yellow tang had red spots... almost looked like a bruise on both sides. She added some ph buffer becuase it was a little low.
I figured bacterial infection, but this morning the spots are all gone? Think this may be a bacterial infection still or could it be something else?

I wasn't there to test her water or anything, but she used her test strips and thought it was a bit low so added some buffer.
The spots looked sort of like a bruise on both sides. As of last night though, they were getting less easily seen so maybe it was ph?

You have to take care with pH, and make good tests and, if needed, raise and lower pH slowly.
What you describe seem more a symptom of stress. Were the spots actually one large round spot along the abdomen, or streaks of red, etc.?

I wish I saved the pic I had... I'm not so sure now where exactly the spots where, just took note that the spots were on each side.
It seems to be cleared up now.
If it was stress, they got an extra dose of it yesterday. Her filter is an older one, the carbon pack in it floated to the top and made it over flow. By the time she got home over half of her tank water was gone and in the floor!

Although that all the pet fish have same diet but some times some breeds should not be taken a general diet. That is why some time this problem occurs.I hop by changing the food You may find better result.Other wise you must consult a veterinarian doctor specially if you have expensive fish.
