You could but you need a very large tank to curb aggression.

If you do have a large enough tank, make sure to get an odd number of them as they will more likely pack together in a group. An even number will create chaos because there won't be one dominant fish. Thus, try to get them in an odd number so there won't be many fights or quarrels.

I thought yellow tangs were not agressive towards other fish. I have one that is about 4" and he is stressing the hell out of any new fish I put in the aguarium, causing them to die.

You won't like this answer but I believe it's because it's in a tank that's too small and making it aggressive. Just an opinion.

What could I add to the tank that will not make it aggresive or handle it's aggression?

Yea, u can get yer fish a larger tank so it isnt territorial about the entire tank, only just a small portion. That is why it is so aggressive.
