Yellow Tang

Got a quick question for ya just got a yellow tang ovet the weekend and got some green seaweed, but everytime i put it in he dosnt seem interested in it he seems to just want to eat off my live rock and sand. Should i have gotten the red seaweed or what do u guys feed yours.

I feed mine green seaweed. I tried the red stuff but he wouldnt go near it. Are you using a clip to attach to the glass? It took mine a day or 2 go near it. Now he comes flying for it when i put it in. I cant even get my hand out in time.

Tangs; despite being a surgeon fish are not the sharpest tools in the shed if you get my meaning. Use the green stuff and give em some time to catch on.

I don't even have to clip my algae sheets to the glass. I break it up into bite size pieces and put it in and my Yellow Tang and Coral Beauty go right to the top. They grab it and shake it all over the place until they've got it to the size they want and then swallow it. They go nuts for it. Give your Tang time and I'm sure he will too.
