Yellow tang

What is the temperment of yellow tang. I thought they were peaceful but this site is saying bold.

they are fairly aggressive, especially in smaller systems, or when kept alone.

My tank is a 72 gallon. I have community fish in the tank. I had a yellow tang once before (1.99 sale this site) with no problems. I was not aware that they are categorized as bold

Hello--my yellow tang is the calmest in the tank -- almost timid - but I am sure they all have their own personalities....now my powder brown--different story--king of my tank!!!

Has anyone had a yellow tang kill another fish?

Yellow Tangs are bold, active, outfront, cruisers and grazers. Most do not bother other community fish but may test other tangs in with them. May pest other new comers for a while and best to make sure new comers are healthy for this reason, but most any established fish is going to test new comers....
