From what I' ve read, at night, their colors fade to a muted gray, making them harder to see by predators. This also occurs in captivity. So all is OK, Good Luck.
Actually the change in coloration is mostly defined as a white horizontal line in middle of torso. Overall color also fades. There are many theories as to the reason for this occurence and what emperorangel describes is as good as any.

mine does too! i was wondering if that was normal, good so it is, the first night I saw it I was like "my tang is sick!!" then it went away in the morning. good to know
