yellow tangs

what do yellow tangs eat? im just wondering. Will they eat fish flakes?

Tangs need a well balanced diet. I feed mine vitamin enriched frozen brine, emerald entree, mysis shrimp, marine cuisine, and some seaweed selects. They also need a well established tank with lots of algae growth on the LR, so they can graze on this between feedings.

find some dried (not baked) nori. I found mine at an asian grocery store. My yellow can't stop eating this stuff.

Or there is SeaWeed Selects most SWF stores sell at a reasonable price. I feed my fish the Green, red and brown sheets and all is eatin greedily.

Now you had to know that SOMEBODY would ask... Why are you "just wondering" what to feed a YT when just less than a week ago you said you'd wait on getting one?

i wanted to know because my lfs had a tank i am getting. ( 75 gallon) im turning it into a reef tank once i get it set up

1 royal gramma

Yellow tangs are herbivores, but probably will take some meaty foods, which isnt really good, because theyll probably lose some of its color since, it isnt natural for them.SO, I fed mine Purple Seaweed,Flakes,lettuce, spirulina, and mostly anything I fed it I would let soak in a vitamin formula(ZOE,Vita-Chem,Selcon,etc.)
