Has anyone ever had one of these or ever seen one? I am looknig at getting one and wanted to see if they are a good fish. I plan on putting it in my 72 gal bow front. Along with a bule hippo, Bi color angel and a pair of GS marrons. What does everyone think? Also might add my royal gramma and my bi color blenny and 3 green chromis to it that are in my 29 right now? Any one think it will be ok? Or what shout i get rid of?

many common names, thats also called the Phychedelic Manderinfish. IMO they have/need the same requirments of the other Dragonets. Plenty of liverock and sand with healthy fuge to provide lots of micro life like pods and worms for them to feed on.

you need a tank with lots and lots of pods to feed a Mandarin. I wouldn't suggest it in a new tank the fish will not have anything to eat.

well since its not a new tank then i wont have to worry about anything. Never said it was a new tank but thanks for your replys. Is there a place to buy more pods. I have seen tons but dont know how many they will eat. I do have a fuge and about 100 + lbs of LR and about 4 3-4 inchs of LS.

If your describing the 72g, then I dont see a problem. If you want the manderine then your system seems like it is worth taking the chance. There are places on line the sell pods but I dont know who they are. After time, a dragonet can learn to eat other introduced food like brine and mysis as well.
I dont see an issue with the other fish other than the blenny. It coild give the manderine some problems. Only one way to find out......

The photo you posted and the one that TeresaQ posted IS the same species, (Synchiropus picturatus) no matter what common name you use. Color and patterens can be slightly different at times and can even change on a fish over time.
