This weekend I am gonna buy a "friend" for my PJ cardinal (hopefully I get the opposite ---...I will basically have ta gues...albeit it will be an educated guess..). And I think I may stop there with the fish...or I may get one more largeish fish, or 2 smaller fish...I m looking at
Dwarf angel of somekind
OR
2 clowns (i really like the pink skunks even though they get a weee bit big)
OR
A reef safe wrasse...maybe a possum...
OR
Psuedochromis/gramma/basslet
Which one do yall like best?

Hi Celacanthr,
I absolutely love dwarf angels...if I could I would have a whole tank of different DAs. Love 'em.
Since I've gotten my gramma, I've been very impressed with what an awesome addition he's been. My vote is either for the gramma or the pink clowns (love those too).
Gary seems to be doing a little better this evening (after I scared him off of the glass by doing a top off). AND, he's checking out the barnacles!! Here's a pic...

Lisa- He is so darn cute! He will in those barnacles in no time.
Celac- My answer would depend on your Jaw's condition (there or not there). If he is there then I vote royal gramma. If not be wary of many dwarf angels as they can be quite territorial and dominating....not sure how the cardinals would tolerate this. Avoid the lemonpeel for sure. If I am not mistaken the coral beauty and cherub(pygmy) are the most relaxed of the bunch.

I do really like the colors of the cherub....but I like the pink skunks color...but my friend is pushing me to get a "Grandma Loreta"
...

Celac- Any "grandma' or basslet /psuedo other than the royal grmma would not be a good choice for your tank IMO. All others can be quite aggressive and trrritorial, particularly the psuedo's though there a one or tow species that are OK in many community systems.

I am not too familiar with the pink clowns but I can look them up in my book. Have you considered a pair of firefish at all? So are you thinking your Jawfish has gone to fishy heaven?

What type of wrasse was it that you mentioned??

On second thought a wrasse may not be a good idea with your brittle stars since they often sleep buried in the sand and can fall prey quite easily.

my brittle is 2" from tip to tip...adn he grow 4"tip to tip..
Oh, what I had meant bye "grandma loretta" is that the scientific name for a royal gramma is a Gramma loreta, but he pronounces is it like "Grandma loreta"
Oh, and the only wrasse i would think of getting would be a possum...MAYBE a flasher/fairy...oh, and the possum doesn't sleep in hte sand...only type of aquarium wrasse to not do that...

Oh, and it would be the "pink skunk clownfish" FWIW

LOL, my bad, I thought you were talking about another specioes of gramma like the blackcap or something. :hilarious
As for that pink clown, "The three skunk clowns are all hardy but tend to be nervous and edgy. If they are to be part of a community of fishes add them to the aquarium early and give them a chance to claim an area before introducing other territorial fishes. Once they have settled they become bolder....have not been seen to spawn in less than 40 gallons.....Pink Skunks are the smallest skunk clownfish reaching only 3 inches....males and females tend to be of the same size......" Quoted from Wilkerson's Clownfishes book.
