Yellow Watchman/Pistol Pairing

I had recently bought a yellow clown goby because I, mistakenly, thought that it would pair up with a pistol shrimp. When I found out that it wouldn't, I gave it to my brother to put in this 75 gallon (and it is doing quite well there). My question is this... I purchased, as a replacement, a yellow watchman goby. I also purchased, at the same time, a red pistol shrimp, again thinking that they would pair up. I have had the new combo for going on 2 weeks now, but the two apparently have not found each other. I have not seen the pistol (althought I have heard him quite a few times) since I placed him in the tank, but my watchman hangs out in the front of my tank all day, every day. Is there any tricks to help those two find each other and pair up?

Its kinda a tough one regarding any shrimp goby and pairing it with a pistol shrimp. Often times it is not the right species of pistol shrimp. Although this is a factor for some shrimp gobies, others will pair with a wide variety of species. With that being said there is no way to guarantee that they will pair up. I have a yellow watchman as well and he was in the same tank as a red pistol shrimp (can't remember sp.) for close to 6 months before they actually decided to tolerate eachothers company. Now I moved him to a different tank with a bullseye pistol shrimp and they paired up right away. So, its kinda a hit and miss thing.

All I know for sure is that a Yellow Watchman prefers Tiger Pistols (remarkable what a little reading will tell you because I had no clue ). My goby still hasn't paid my red pistol a bit of attention.
