Yellow Wrasse or Coris Wrasse

Sooo,I have a small yellow wrasse or coris wrasse. The LFS told me it was reef safe, but I noticed he nips at Star polyps and some Monti SPS..I can't catch the fast devil any advice ? I have a 80 Gal RT with about 20-25 corals and I don't want to ruin my rock setup or risk harming the animals trying to net the yellow wrasse He's only 1-2 inches and fast. Can he do major damage to the star polyp or other corals or it's a minor prob ?

If you don't want to take everything out, I suggest a fish trap. Are you sure that it is picking at the corals and not something on them. Is there damage to them?

if he is eatting start polyps ILL BUY HIM FROM YOU!!!!!!! haha i wish, but i am starting to think i have a prolific star polyp problem, i have 3 diffrent kinds of the stuff and this real fine pastail colored one grows really fast! would be nice to have something that would keep it in check
PS. warsses eat any little bug that moves and with my star polyps thats where alot of my bugs like to hide from the mandrin...he hunts in them all the time as well i dont think hes eatting the star polyps just the bugs running around in it

He just nips at everythin maybe hes eating anything off the star polyps..they still look ok I just wanted to point out they are not completely reef safe I would catagorize them as reef safe with caution.

you should try to find out if it is a yellow or coris because yellow grow to 5" and most coris species get to be a foot or more

I'm pretty sure I'ts coris has 3 blue spots on the top fin...and is 1 inch now. Well if it gets bigger it will be a lot easier to take out.

A yellow wrasse is also called a yellow coris wrasse (though it's technically not a coris wrasse), or yellow canary wrasse, or just canary wrasse. They're considered reef safe with caution because they eat flatworms (one of the only wrasse types that eat them naturally). Since flatworms tend to live on coral, the yellow wrasse will appear to be "eating" the coral but in fact they're going after the flatworms. This can cause damage to the coral, which is why they say "with caution". I researched these guys extensively as a natural way to deal with flatworms before deciding not to get one because I didn't want them to tear up any of my coral in the process.

Well I have 25 corals and just added 2 more. The Yellow Coris is small and fast how can I catch him ? I'll put him in my FOWLR.
