Hello all,
I am new to the saltwater world. I have been into fresh water tetras for about five years(50 gal). About three months ago I decided to take on salt water. Specifically, want to get into reefs. I have a 29 gal tank.
Fluval 303
Prizm skimmer
174 gph powerhead
SO fluorecent light
1 hood (currently under construction)
3 green chromis
1 blue damsel
1 perc clown
1 sand sifting starfish
4 turbo snails
1 purple tip sebae anenome
60 lbs live sand
17 lbs live rock
I need suggestions about lighting. I don't know much at all, other than what I have been reading online about lighting. I want to set my hood up with high quality lighting for corals. I need suggestions for the whole setup. Is a fan necessary?
HELP!!!!!!!!!
I will post a pic soon!!!!
Thanks,
Sam

metal halide supplemented with actinic vho's, powercompacts, or t-5's. you could go with 1 175W 10,000K, or 1 250W 10,000K, or even 1 400W 10,000K metal halide. or you could use a 20,000K, or a 6500K, or a 14,000K. there are also many other ways/combinations you could do as well. i suggest doing a lot of reading on this site, many people have set up lights in many different ways and have had success. you will need stronger lighting for that anemone, what kind of lighting did you say you had over your tank?
