Yet another RO/DI question

It is time to get the RO/DI filter as I am tired of going out and purchasing the water.
Want to get a filter for use in the laundry room. Can I assume I do not need the storage tank and just use a faucet/hosebib adapter and fill the bucket directly?
Basically, I would like to use it only as needed,,,water changes and top offs!
Thanks

That works, but takes along time to fill and you need to shut it off befor it overflows the bucket. Mines in my laundry room too and is hooked to the washer machine faucet with a Garden hose Y adapter. So often I turn mine on and forget to check and when I rmember the floors all wet.
I need to get a float valve.

Mine is rated at 35 gallons per day, or about 1 1/2 gallons per hour. It actually filled a 50 gallon trash in just over day.
Unless you'll be staring at it the whole time, I'd make sure what whatever container it goes into has a float valve. There is one alternative, though. Rig the container up with a drain near the top, so that excess water drains off even while the unit continues to make water. You'll need a drain for the unit, anyway. Wasteful, but it probably would work, as long as the drain can move water faster than the unit can make it.
