Yet another thing to identify

Okay,
These green things just appeared in my tank. They probably hitchhiked from a new small rock that I put in, but I am not sure. Anyone know what they are? They originally looked like some kind of algae, but there are tube looking things sticking out...

looks like some kind of sponge or possibly a tunicate

Do I need to get rid of it? I accidentally let hair algae get in my tank when it was new about 2 years ago and it took forever to get ride of. But if this little sponge (which is in a couple of spots) is okay - I will leave it.

yep...both pix are of the same type of sponge.

Sponges are cool, I would leave it in there. If it's a bad thing..someone chime in.
