question: why do you suggest installing the bulkhead gaskets for the refugium on the "outside" wall?
(more to come as I edit the article I'm sure LOL)
Thanks,
Paul

question: you're using SLIPxFNPT union fittings? I didn't even see such a thing at the stores I was looking, I had to go with SLIPxSLIP unions, maybe I should let the reader know where you found yours?
Later with more LOL,
Paul

Paul,
question: you're using SLIPxFNPT union fittings?
I didn't use SLIP x FNPT Unions on either pump.
I did use SLIP X SLIP Unions with SLIP X Threaded fittings attached to the unions.
I'm not sure why I suggested placing the gaskets on the outside.
I think I did this because of the bulkhead fitting I choose.
I wanted the 1" FNPT facing outwards on the sump.
If I placed the gaskets on the "inside" then as I would have tightend the bulkhead nut - the nut would have pressed against the gasket.
I believe I chose not to have a "spinning" nut working against a "stationary" gasket. Figured it may tear into it.
But that was some time back too - not really sure what I was doing back then either LOL.
Site is looking real nice paul !
Love you gallery pics.
What software or site builder are you using ?
Nice template

thanks for the kudo's broomer, you should go back and visit now, just added a gallery of sump/refugium pictures stolen from your site :D :p
okay, regarding the gasket, I'm going to edit your directions and leave that out, if that's okay with you. I'm just afraid someone may try that with something *other* than rubbermaid and the seal wouldn't hold.
I'm also going to clarify the union fitting issue.
Thanks for the info and the stolen errrrr I mean borrowed pics hehe BTW, if you want to add descriptions to the pictures PLEASE let me know. I'd be happy to add any text you want to accompany each one. paul@www.villagebistro.info
I'm learning Dreamweaver to build the site and the gallery is a heavily modified PHP program I found on the web.
Again thanks for the praise and hopefully sometime soon the site will deserve it LOL
Later,
Paul
