Calf leather is really soft. How do you not know it isn't real?
Most of the synthetic leathers I have seen are very soft, which is part of the reason I think they thought it had to be fake because the coats were very good quality hide and extremely soft I was second guessing myself at first because they were so pliable and soft.

What does Jello have to do with meat? lol
Jello is made from collagen harvested from the hooves, bones and connective tissues of cows and pigs.

I think the phrase should actually be "Save the Naugas", which comes from an advertising slogan of a company that made NaugaHyde (tm), a synthetic "leather" of some type. A good buddy of mine used to think that the Nauga was a real animal that lived in South America somewhere! He was crestfallen when I told him just what it was.
