Don't worry, pretty unlikely they will start a draft again. Rumsfield is pretty open in letting his opinion known about that.
Besides, any government which has to enslave it own citizens to carry out its own wishes.... would bring some serious questions into play. IMO
How would that war ensure that your children having the same lifestyle you grew up with?

There is nothing awesome at all about that video. That is tragic. You don't know anything about those guys at all do you? Their beliefs, their family's, what they stand for. You know nothing about them.

if you look at the video closely the 2nd guy to get hit looked like he was trying to give up and the took him out anyway. that just wasn't right:mad:

I want some more info about the video before i start calling it a tragedy.
Is it the US Air Corps, or another ally? Simulator vid readout? Who and where?
Having a father in the Army for 30 years, and a brother in for five, I can tell you that they don't shoot for no reason. My brother's been in Iraq for a year, they don't shoot unless shot at, they patrol streets waiting to be shot at so they can pinpoint the shooter. So I'd like more information about the circumstances around this before I say it's tragic.

While that may be the "official" policy regarding discharging of firearms. We all know thats not what really happens "ALL THE TIME".
Oh well, like Waterfaller said... greed, hate, war... what are they good for :notsure:

Actually, with Army Air Corps and the Air Force, they tape EVERYTHING. So in the case of air combat, the official policy is followed to the letter. Especially in cases of engaging an enemy.

It is my opinion that scenes like this offer different emotional responses as we age. As a teen and even in my early twenties, I would say cool, kill them all, but as a 30 year old man, I just look at it and realize those that died were probably fathers of kids who are innocent of all that brought this scene about, or they might be children of parents who will never get over the fact they outlived their child.......nothing but tears.....heartwrenching pain. Each man that fell there................well, there's no telling how many people were overcome with grief.
Nowadays, I look at war as something that is needed, but I respect the fact that each one of those guys may be a brother to someone who loves them dearly, and I can NOT imagine the pain of my brother dying in war, and his video taped death ending up on a fish site.
It's a war, people die, and I hope those who have to kill know that there was a reason for it. I never fought in a war, and I can only imagine the demons that would haunt a person.....
I was against the war until recently.........when Lybia gave up their weapons of mass destruction, I actually started thinking that maybe this will work. The countries over there have been soooooooooooo messed up for so long, and now Lybia decides to give up it's weapons?

I've seen that clip before - I believe it was taken from Afghanistan in 2002 from an AH-64 Apache. The Apache can hover very far away and fire on targets accurately both day and night. Because it's a 2-man crew, one pilots and the other is the weapons engineer. The gun firing is mounted underneath the cockpit and is capable of firing explosive tipped rounds as you see in the footage.

Just retired Colonel, you still wouldn't want to piss him off. He "slept" with a gun in his hand on his chest for a good year after his last tour of Nam .:scared:

This is what they are trained in..I was in the Army for 7years. when you there and doing you duty, it's just your job, but ajusting back to society is pretty tough.

I feel the same, it is unfortunate that there is war, but as long as there are bad men there will be a need to stop them and some times talk don't work,,,,, so BOOOOOOOM!!!
