Reef master ro/di double pass di system 100gpd. Got it off the

[hr]
site ...
So far i love it. I'd recommend it 169 with shipping. (they have others at about 129) i hook it up to the kitchen sink.....takes 3 seconds to hook up and unhook. when not in use i put it in another room. when needed i get about 5 gallons every 45-60mins. don't have auto top off , don't use it for drinking water either. i use it when needed, or i'll premake 5 gallons at a time.

I have an Air Water Ice Hurricane Dual Home/Reef system with permeate pump and digital tds meter. It's a 5 stage, 75gpd, and it was $220. It is hooked up under the kitchen sink and has a 3 gallon drinking water reservoir and drinking water faucet mounted on the sink. When I want RO/DI for my tank, I just pull the hose out from under the sink, open the valve, and fill a 5 gallon container. I get the first 3 gallons very quickly because it takes the water that is already filtered from the RO tank and then just runs it through the DI. I could also have the DI set up to go to a holding tank with a float valve so I would have a constant supply of DI water as well, but I just haven't done that yet. I am totally happy with it. It takes my well water, which runs about 850 tds, down to zero.

'Nother one for thefitlerguys. I actually have one of those $110 6-stages off that site you bid for stuff. I then replaced all of the internal filters with some from thefilterguys (all 3 prestages, and the RO membrane), then bought the single "Tide DI system" from them to replace the worthless horizontal DI it came with. Fantastic people too, they were able to walk my mom through ordering the DI as one of my X-mas presents last year.
If I had to do it again, I would just have bought the Ocean Reef system from the get-go. I would definitely consider the Chloramine filter upgrade, since the water in Florida is usually very treated. As I understand it, chlorine is only used occansionally, but chloramine is always present.
I got the $34.00 - CARBON BLOCK CHLORAMINE PACKAGE
1 POLY SEDIMENT 1 MICRON FILTER
1 CHLORAMINE MASTER NH2CL STAGE 2 CARBON BLOCK
1 CHLORAMINE MASTER NH2CL STAGE 3 CARBON BLOCK

Air Water Ice's
The Typhoon III Extreme 150gpd 5 stage $269.95
With TDS ALARM, DUAL PROBE IN-LINE EC and Hand Held digital TDS meters. Fully automatic shut off ASOV and float valve included.
I've never had anything else so I can't compare, but we love this one.

I would stick with a 5 micron. Too much smaller and it will clog before the backup prefilters, too much larger and it will let too much by.
I would stick to a 75gph unit as well. Becareful if you get a 100gph or higher. They stop becoming RO membranes, and actually become "nano-filters." I believe the GE RO membrane is actually a RO membrane, but I know to avoid the 100gph Dow Industries, is it's a nano-filter.

The Filter Guys Ocean Wave...it is a 4 stage+inline DI. When everything was said and done it costed about 300 dollars. We use it all the time for drinking water, like 10 bottles a day, but bypass the DI. Lovin' it!
