ok he will sit behind a rock upside down.. same place all day long... this bothers me. is he ok he is head down just hovering behind a rock..

Such is the average day in a lion fishs' life. Pretty normal behavior. You'll see him perched sidesways, upside down, nose up.

Ours is the same way, whenever I see him swimming normal and try to get a pic of him he will quickly turn pointing down. He makes me so mad...:mad:

yes mine does the same than comes out to play with my sf eel when the lights go out . eel hides all day too and swims all night.

i think you will find that this is normal behavior, mine does it all the time. if you notice when you clean the inside glass he will point head down at me to expose his spines at me like for his protection. i think i got a pic i'll post.

well thats good to know then.. is there a way to trick him into thinking its night time all the time so he will swim around!!!
 
No them cruising all the time would be a bad sign. The only time any of mine have done active swimming is when they think I have not fed them enough. When that are upside down in a corner or by a rock is natural. I kinda like it. As long as the fish is happy so am I. Just always check were he is when scrubbing algae. Or you too will learn a very painful lesson. YEEOOUCH !

I've had volitans and currently a dwarf...they all do it..as far as I know...
